12 p.m. is such a dreadful hour to wake up at. It's too late for waking up in the earlier, more productive hours such as 6, 7, and 9 (not so much 8, though...strange) and too early for the later hours such as 2, 3, and 6. Anyways, I woke up at this ungodly hour and, slowly but surely, got out of bed to get dressed. My home was tremendiously cold. It felt like I was living inside of a witches tit (only the highly skilled in puns will understand that. Skiba, thats for you.). Not possible on so many levels, I know, but just go with the flow, will you? Anywho...I digress....
Breakfast was nowhere in sight. I get like this every once in a while. I postpone grocery shopping 'til I find myself literally toasting bread and eating it plain. So I thought to venture over to the lovely Mighty-O Donuts out in Tangletown. If you haven't heard of it, there's about 2 or 3 of them in Seattle. They're an all vegan donut shop. It's only a short 4 or 5 block walk from my house so I went on my stoll.
As I believe I mentioned earlier, I thought my house was cold...thought...outside it was absolutely freezing. I was chilled to the bone. It being the third day of snow, I thought it would start to sort of hinder by now. I couldn't be more wrong. I was ice skating in vans. I almost slipped a couple times, but I won't lie to you, it was a little fun. I try to balance the grown up spooky Danny with the awkward little boy Danny as much as possible. So anyways, I get to Mighty-O and order two chocolate glazed donuts and some water. I don't know if it is only Mitch and I who feel this way, but chocolate is just better with ice cold water. So I sat there and gazed at the pretty girl who works across the street at the salon. After my fantasies died down and i finished my first donut, I left back for home.
When I got home I sat down on my couch thinking of what day it was. All of a sudden a million things hit me at once. "What day is it? Monday? No, Wensday! it's 2 o' clock! I HAVE A DOCTORS APPOINTMENT AT 3!" I then rushed to the bus stop and luckily made it to the doctors right on time. I got a Hepitits shot. I'm usually not scared of pain, but that needle was like 2 and a half inches long. Not cool. I'm pretty sure I lost some dark points when they plunged it into my skin and I made a little meep noise. The spooky grown-up me wanted her to move it around a little to feel it inside, but the little boy me was not having any of it.
So I am now at home, enjoying donut number two with a glass of water and Dear You. And, I guess this being an art journal, I should tell you I have a new peice up called "The Black Dog Runs At Night". Deep, yes? More to come. Until then I think I'm going to snag my iPod and go take pictures at the cemetary if its not to dark and make photocopies for an art project. I should problably go grocery shopping too. oh well. And if anyone has an answer as to why the two days I REALLY want to go skateboarding, it snows...I would love to know.
